Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 June 2026
Boiler Boss is a trading name of Gas Boss Ltd. We take your privacy seriously and only ever ask for the information we genuinely need to quote for and carry out your boiler work. This policy explains what we collect through this website and when you get in touch, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
This website (boilerboss.co.uk) is operated by Boiler Boss, the boiler specialism of Gas Boss Ltd, run by Chris Hargreaves and based in Ramsgate, serving Thanet and East Kent. For anything to do with your personal data we are the ‘data controller’. You can reach us any time at chris@boilerboss.co.uk or on 07888 864522.
The information we collect
We keep this to a minimum. Depending on how you contact us, it may include:
- Details you send through our quote form: your name, phone number, postcode, the service you’re after, and any message you add.
- Details you give us by phone or email: your contact details and whatever you tell us about the job.
- Job and property information: notes about your boiler, system and property that we need to quote accurately and work safely.
- Basic technical information: when you load the site your browser automatically shares things like your IP address and device or browser type. Our website host uses this to serve the pages and keep the site secure.
We don’t knowingly collect information from children, and we never ask for more than the job requires.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- reply to your enquiry and give you a quote;
- arrange, carry out and follow up on your boiler installation, repair or service;
- keep proper records of the work we’ve done, including the gas safety records we are required to hold;
- contact you about your job, a booking, or a service that’s due; and
- meet our legal, insurance and tax obligations.
Our lawful bases for this are: taking steps at your request before entering a contract and then performing that contract; our legitimate interest in running the business well; your consent where you have given it; and compliance with our legal obligations. We don’t use your details for unrelated marketing, and we never sell your data.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell or rent your information to anyone. We do rely on a small number of trusted providers to run the business, and they only process your data on our instructions:
- LeadConnector (HighLevel): receives and organises the enquiries you send through our website form so we can respond and keep track of your job.
- Vercel: hosts this website and processes the basic technical data needed to deliver the pages securely.
- Google Fonts: the site’s fonts are served by Google, so your browser requests them from Google when the page loads.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram): we run the Meta Pixel on our website (see ‘Cookies and tracking’ below), which shares limited information about your visit with Meta so we can measure and improve our advertising.
We may also share information where the law requires it, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. Each provider above operates under its own privacy terms.
Cookies and tracking
We keep tracking to a minimum and only use what we need to run the business and our advertising. The cookies and similar technologies on this site fall into two groups:
- Essential: the things the site needs to work and to be served securely, such as our website host and the quote form. These don’t track you across other websites.
- Advertising and measurement: we use the Meta Pixel (from Meta, the company behind Facebook and Instagram) on our website. It sets cookies and collects information about your visit, such as the pages you view and the actions you take, and shares this with Meta. We use it to measure how well our Facebook and Instagram adverts are working, to understand what people do after clicking an advert, and to reach people who might need our services. We don’t use it to personally identify you to us. We only load the Meta Pixel after you accept cookies on the banner shown when you first visit the site, and you can decline it there, in which case the pixel is not loaded.
You can control or block cookies through your browser settings, and you can manage how Meta uses your information from the advert preferences in your Facebook or Instagram account. Blocking cookies may stop some parts of the site working as intended. Meta processes the pixel data under its own terms, which you can read in Meta’s Privacy Policy. If you reach us from a Google advert, Google may likewise use its own cookies under its own policies. See also the notice at the foot of every page.
How long we keep it
We keep your information only for as long as we need it. Enquiries that don’t turn into work are cleared in good time. Where we do carry out work, we keep customer and job records for as long as necessary to support any guarantee and to meet our legal, gas safety, insurance and tax obligations, after which they are securely deleted.
How we protect it
We use reputable providers and reasonable technical and organisational measures to keep your information safe. Anything you send through the website is transmitted over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. No method of sending information over the internet is ever completely secure, but we take care to protect what you share with us.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018) you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- have inaccurate information corrected;
- ask us to delete information where there is no good reason for us to keep it;
- object to, or ask us to restrict, how we use it; and
- withdraw any consent you have given, at any time.
To exercise any of these, just email chris@boilerboss.co.uk and we’ll help. If you are ever unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a new ‘last updated’ date above.
Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 6 June 2026
These terms cover your use of the Boiler Boss website (boilerboss.co.uk). Any work we carry out for you is also covered by the written quotation and job paperwork we provide before work begins. If anything in that paperwork differs from these terms, your job paperwork takes precedence.
About us
Boiler Boss is the boiler specialism of Gas Boss Ltd, run by Chris Hargreaves, a Gas Safe registered engineer based in Ramsgate and serving Thanet and East Kent. You can contact us at chris@boilerboss.co.uk or on 07888 864522.
Using this website
This website is here to tell you about our services and to let you request a quote. You are welcome to browse and to get in touch. Please don’t misuse the site, attempt to disrupt it, or copy its content, design or images for your own use without our permission, as they belong to Boiler Boss. We work hard to keep the information accurate and up to date, but we can’t promise it is free of every error or that the site will always be available.
Quotes, prices and estimates
Any prices shown on this site, including ‘from’ prices, are a guide to help you budget, not a fixed quote. The right price for your job depends on your boiler, your system and your property, so we always confirm a clear, fixed price in writing before any work starts. A written quote we give you is valid for 30 days unless we say otherwise. Submitting the quote form doesn’t create a contract; it is simply a request for us to get back to you.
Booking and carrying out work
We’ll agree the work, the price and the timing with you before we begin. All gas work is carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer, in line with the relevant Gas Safety regulations and the boiler manufacturer’s requirements. If we find something on site that changes the job, we’ll talk it through and agree any change with you before going ahead.
Guarantees and warranties
Our workmanship is guaranteed as set out in your job paperwork. New boilers come with the manufacturer’s warranty, which is normally conditional on the boiler being registered and serviced annually; we’ll explain what applies to your installation. Keeping up your annual service is the best way to protect both your warranty and your boiler.
Payment
Payment terms are set out in your quote or invoice. Unless we agree otherwise, payment is due on completion of the work.
Cancelling
If you have booked work as a consumer, you may have a right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts Regulations. If you would like to cancel or rearrange, please let us know as early as you can and we’ll sort it out. Where you have asked us to start work urgently within the cancellation period, you may be liable for any work already carried out.
Our responsibility to you
We don’t exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. Beyond that, our liability for any claim connected with our work is limited to the value of that work. The website and its content are provided ‘as is’, and we are not liable for losses arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site.
Links to other sites
Where we link to other websites, such as Checkatrade or our web designers, those sites are outside our control and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the courts of England and Wales.
